--- ## OVERVIEW This document covers sourcing all components for the DBA/APTBS **SYNTHESIZER** PCB in New Zealand, organised by supplier tier from most local to international. Order the AliExpress parts **first** — they take the longest. The board uses a standard guitar pedal power supply: **2.1mm centre negative, 9V DC**.

[ 01 ] TIER 1 — JAYCAR NZ

Walk-in or click & collect from Christchurch. These are standard passives and common ICs that Jaycar reliably stocks. Do this run first — it covers the bulk of the part count.

Resistors (all values 220Ω → 1MΩ)	Individual value packs or bulk assortment kit. 1/4W axial, ~7.5mm pitch.
Ceramic Capacitors (22pF → 105)	Radial, ~5mm pad pitch. Check Jaycar code-to-value chart.
Electrolytic Capacitors (1µF → 100µF, 25V)	Radial polarised, ~1.8mm pitch. 2.2µF and 3.3µF are interchangeable per build guide.
1N4148 ×2, 1N4001 ×3 Diodes	Standard DO-35 / DO-41 axial diodes. Stock items.
2N3904 ×2, 2N3906 ×1, BC550 ×1	TO-92 transistors. Mind pinout — CBE vs EBC orientation matters.
TL072P ×3	Dual op-amp, DIP-8. Common stock.
LM324N ×2	Quad op-amp, DIP-14.
LM741P ×1	Can be swapped with UA741.
LM386N-1 ×1	Low voltage audio power amp, DIP-8.
78L05Z ×1	TO-92 voltage regulator. May be labelled 78L05 or L78L05.
LEDs (5mm red) ×3	Standard 5mm. Mind polarity — flat side to board marking.
IC Sockets (8-pin ×6, 14-pin ×3, 16-pin ×2)	DIP sockets, 2.54mm pitch. ALWAYS socket your ICs.
SPDT Toggle Switches ×5	ON-ON, panel/PCB mount. Check leg clearance for flat lay.
DC Barrel Jack ×1	2.1mm standard. Part ref: 163-179PH-EX.

Jaycar's standard potentiometers are 24mm upright types. The BOM requires 16mm RIGHT-ANGLE PCB/panel mount pots. Verify shaft type and pin spacing before purchasing — check Jaycar's 9mm mini pot range (RP8510 series) as a closer match, or source from Mouser.

[ 02 ] TIER 2 — MOUSER NZ

nz.mouser.com — Ships from AU warehouse. Fast delivery, usually 2–4 days. Best for specific/less common parts. Combine into one order to minimise shipping.

PT2399 Delay Chip ×2	Search "PT2399". DIP-16. Core delay chip — do not substitute.
40106N Hex Schmitt Trigger ×1	Search "CD40106BE" or "HEF40106BN". DIP-14.
Neutrik NRJ6HF-1 Jacks ×3	Search exact part number. Smaller footprint — critical for PCB hole alignment.
16mm Right-Angle Pots (all values)	B=Linear, A=Audio/Log. Need right-angle PCB mount, 16mm body, 6mm D-shaft.
Piezo Disk ×1	Large piezo element with wire leads. Can also find at Jaycar.

The Neutrik NRJ6HF-1 jack footprint is smaller than generic jacks and must align with the PCB holes. Do not substitute with a generic panel jack.

[ 03 ] TIER 3 — SPECIAL SOURCES

These parts need dedicated sourcing. The CA3080 situation especially requires attention — most cheap chips on the market are counterfeit.

CA3080 // AS3080 — TRANSCONDUCTANCE AMPLIFIER ×1

The original CA3080E is discontinued and no longer manufactured. The build guide explicitly confirms: CA3080 = AS3080, they are pin-compatible drop-in replacements.

The DIY community reports that the overwhelming majority of cheap CA3080 chips sourced from AliExpress and similar are counterfeit. Do NOT buy from AliExpress for this specific chip.

ALPHA SR2512F ROTARY SWITCHES ×2 — 2-POLE 6-POSITION

Must be the metal Alpha unsealed type. The PCB holes are sized specifically for this series — non-Alpha switches will not align correctly.

AliExpress	Search "Alpha SR2512F 2P6T". ~AU$2–3 each. Allow 2–4 weeks from Taiwan. ORDER FIRST.
Banzai Music (DE)	Reputable pedal DIY supplier. Slightly more expensive but faster and verified.
eBay	Search "Alpha 2P6T rotary switch". US sellers often have stock, faster than AliExpress.

Execute in this sequence to minimise total build wait time. The AliExpress switches are the long pole — order them before anything else.
